Trovata: The diaphanous shirt dress which opened the Trovata show was followed by a stunning array of black and white ensembles in plaids. What appealed to me most were slim trousers which were folded above the ankles and the cutesy white shoes. Slim belts and neck scarves added to the preppy quotient.
Rag and Bone: What a blizzard of zips can do to an ensemble was proved by Rag and Bone with multiple zips all over the cigarette pants lending a military edge. White shirt, metallic coat and slim tie worn by model Jessica Stam was superb to say the least! All in all the collection was gothic, androgynous and high on drama!
Nicole Miller: Luscious prints, berets and exotic beads were dominant influence in Nicole Miller’s collection. Slouchy trousers which grazed the knees and leather jackets and waist coat made it playful and flirty. The closing floor length gowns in shades of purple and lemon yellow were simply stunning.
BCBG Max Azria: Metallic grey, teal, bright orange and indigo blue dresses were truly femme fatale-ish.
Off shoulder dresses with asymmetrical hemlines showing ample thighs stood out as much as the mini dresses cinched at the waist by a belt.
Erin Featherstone: Shimmer and dégradé were two major components of Erin Featherstone’s collection. An icy pallete of peach, aqua blue, baby pink made it a fairy tale collection. Frothy dresses with asymmetrical necklines and billowing ruffled hemlines were a sight to behold.
Jason Wu: Bow front blouses, candy pink coats and ties with bowler hats made the collection simply adorable. Indigo blue and bluish green numbers set a dramatic scene which was heightened by textured, ribbed, ruffled and tiered gowns towards the end.
For those of you, who are die-hard romantics...with an eye for art and aesthetics...and admire all the colourful things in life...dynamism of design, flowers, books, clothes etc....
