Resort 2009
Resort 2009
Call it resort, pre-fall, cruise or capsule, these collections are a new whiff of tantalising fragrance which designers bring out in between the spring summer and autumn winter. Here are a few which caught my attention
Chanel
Chanel like always brought a sleek and subtle collection in brand's signature whites and blacks with some swim suits and ensembles in powder pink. Slim jeans, shirts, dresses, jackets and gowns were very elegant and had a strong seventies' feel to them. Completing the stunningly gorgeous ensembles were beads, head gears and slim ties which made it oh so coco!
Valentino
Valentino's 'easy on the eyes hues' were delectable and cuddly. A colour pallete of white, gray and signature red made it a cloying confectionery. Ruffles, bow detailing, jackets and pencil skirts made it very elegant and feminine.
Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney's collection had a fun vibe to it. I particularly liked the smart shorts and elegant harem pants. Beige, cobalt blue, rusty orange and salmon colours made it very summery and bright.
Donna Karan
Donna Karan's collection is all the more desirable for its luscious colours. From baby pink to salmon pink to fuschia to strawberry red-the dresses were pleated and pin tucked to make the silhouette flowy.
Zac Posen
It was a collection for a well heeled fashionista who whiles her leisure at the snooty garden soirees. Maxi dresses, gowns, suit pants were simply sporty glam and the end gowns slashed at the thighs and knees in cobalt blue, turquoise blue and bright orange were stunners to say the least!
Isaac Mizrahi
Candy colours like peaches and pinks made it cloying and irresistible. Smart jackets, cutesy skirts, pin-tucked dresses, shirt dresses and ensembles cinched at the waist by a slim belts were like able! I loved the use of ruffles and liked one multi-tired dress with an assymetrical neckline. The finale dress in pink and orange was a complete stunner!
