What I like about Dolce and Gabbana is the gleaming ramps, in-your-face sexiness and a very young feel to their every collection. Designers themselves look like true blue fashion divas and I simply loved their pictures on vogue website. I especially like the gym and sports wear and not to miss the party shirts which can be teamed with funky D & G crosses and funky eye wear.
Talking of shirt, I should talk about Roberto Cavalli. They are just bedazzling. I loved their younger line-"Just Cavalli" especially for guys.
and who won't fall in love with the Burberry trench coats. Aren't they divine.
For girls who dress for themselves- there are only two options-fashion hooligans-Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano. I quite like the fact that over all these years, Karl has maintained such a thin physique which accentuate the appeal of his dresses too. Not many know that Karl is a great photographer too and his Dom Perignon campaign is to die for.
I love Galliano's faint moustachios and every show of his is a larger than life riveting spectacle. I love his fedora hats, couture gowns and the way he does the stage. It is simply mind blowing.
As far as Indian fashion scene goes, I like Arjun Khanna's imagination- every collection of his is a tribute to men's beauty. I am looking forward to his latest which he'll be showcasing at the Mumbai fashion week. His shirts, shoes and bandhgalas are great. Not to forget the way he dresses himself-white jacket, pristine white shoes, diamond studded belt, baby pink shirt and silver jewellery. He is on of those few men in Mumbai who can carry off pink and accessories really well.
Arjun is also a great artist and his sketches at his studio are a visual treat.
I also like stuff by Manish Malhotra though many feel that how long will he continue to use filmi red, black and white. Well fashion is a serious business and if it sells, nothing like it.Many dismiss him as a filmi bollywood designer though I feel he is India's Valentino.
I also love the Valentino couture and accessories. The belt which Victoria Beckham sports is sexy while his latest collection was amazing-his signature reds, blacks and whites.
I think a job of a couturier is to make ppl look like million bucks and aforementioned deities are doing that. And how!
For those of you, who are die-hard romantics...with an eye for art and aesthetics...and admire all the colourful things in life...dynamism of design, flowers, books, clothes etc....
